Understanding a Freelancer's Dream

Yes, IT Happens, Oh Ye of Little Faith!

I love sites like Elance and Odesk. They PAY. In fact, some of the "buyers" there at those sites REALLY pay well. Sure, it's difficult to START and get your first job -- because you need to have feedback to LOOK credible, much like Ebay -- except that you're selling "services". Like Ebay also, you have to learn how to compete and SELL yourself/your services and if that means putting all those old jpegs of your newspaper articles you've written five years ago-do it! Heck, at least they were published in the MAINSTREAM(ehem!) media. Not that it really matters to me, but it does to  those who will SEE your profile.

Portfolios are great-- if one can prove that the "provider" did make it him/herself. I am a little weary of tests however because yesterday I got THIS page. Oh there are a LOT of "cheat pages" like that for BOTH Elance and Odesk. But really, I don't care because most writers there who manage to get by through cheating do not REALLY succeed. Sure, their test scores look impressive --- but the moment  they write their first paragraph, IT shows.

The pretty fair thing about these sites however is that you do get happy clients. A least I like them HAPPY and somehow, call it the Law of Attraction, they always come back to me. Also, it's better that Helium that TOTALLY sucks and promises you 50 cents fr one article IF you have ONE star that can disappear the next day.

I've written a couple of E-books, and my have I learned a LOT. The idea of MOST is to sell these e-books through Clickbank. If you have no idea at all what Clickbank is, all you have to do is google it and find out. Clinkbank is where you can sell YOUR OWN product and you can get LUCKY if your e-book is interesting or catchy enough. The whole secret s selling information so you can practically write any E-book on any subject and sell it. Or, you can actually give away your E-book as a "PR thingy" to sell ANOTHER one. Do people make money of them.. I mean like millions? YES they do. I wish one of my "buyers" make millions... it would at least help them remember me for a LONG LONG LONG time :)

Now aside from E-books most who need freelancers need to have ezine articles --something like hubpages - where they can LINK any product that they sell to their ezine article. Going rates for a 500 word article is 3-5 dollars. I have a favorite client who pays me 5 bucks which is why I like him and wish that he become the FIRST millionaire.

And no I am not kidding, I earn about a thousand- sometimes MORE a month. Things have turned out pretty well and I guess it's because I KNOW what my dear buyers WANT. Like me, they also want to make that ONE "e-book" that will make them money while they sleep .. an does it does happen.

Freelancing is great for people who want to LEARN while doing something for another (and getting paid for it). The first JOB is always the most difficult BUT here's my secret -- do read it and find out how I candidly started ! Click

@stars439, check out Odesk these days, they pay upfront as high as 27-40 an hour but they do have the software you have to use to measure the hours :)
