Thank God for China Soul (Yes, David Soul's Daughter)

Her name is China Soul and she's David Soul's daughter. Yes, the same David Soul who played the role of Kenneth Hutchinson in the late 70's (was it 80's?) unforgettable TV cop-buddy series called "Starsky and Hutch" -- and to this day, the two stars of that show still have a mighty strong "cult following" (or whatever that means anyway) But we'reNOT writing about them.. we are writing on someone younger -- yes, China Soul!

People love China Soul because she's talented, affable, pleasant, and extremely beautiful. She has that exotic look of innocence, something even her dad, didn't possess then. (But we still love David Soul anyway). Ever heard her SING? Her voice is lovely... haunting, relaxing, sweet.. it's difficult to describe HOW she sings, but "IT" is there. It's all heart and one hears then "feels" her song. Very few singers have that "gift". It's something like Janis Ian, bit not exactly, it's China Soul. She has developed her own style far from the sweetums of the 70's and 80's.. she is DIFFERENT! There is something about how she looks which matches her songs. Something almost magically undefinable.

Perhaps it isn't only the way she sings, but what she has become. SHE is a lady!

You won't hear about her on TMZ doing the most outrageous things like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Lindsay Logan.. maybe it's the Hollywood air? China Soul was born in LA but performs usually in London. She lives in the UK which may be WHY she is stable minded, friendly, civil despite the fact that she is David Soul and Julia Nickson's daughter and probably could have gotten a part in Hollywood because of her parents.. but NO.... Her work ethic is admirable, she's been singing with several bands and doing solo numbers. She has recently graduated from College.. I mean how many kids of celebs actually graduate from College and get a decent education? THIS ONE DID... well, aside from the fact that she doesn't have a polie record yet for drunk driving! She's ONE GOOD ROLE MODEL that some people may be missing.

She was BORN an artist. She writes songs and started in 2008 along with Chaz Jankel of the Blockheads. She was even nominated for the BAFTA awards ! This girl is DOING a LOT (all of them good) and her debut album is coming out on October 18. It's called "Secrets & Words" and previewing it more than a delight --- it's an "experience". There is a "difference" between enjoying it and almost having a mystical experience when hearing a song... or maybe it's just ME:)

Me and my friends went on an Amazon hunt to SAVE money and we are definitely excited. "Secrets and Words" is on pre-sale at Amazon (our favorite!) ITunes and HMV. UK and we're glad to have her debut album. You know why? Because we KNOW that one day this girl will be a BIGGIE and will probably be as well known ALL OVER THE WORLD like her father was and still is.We do hope that fate spares her the angst that come along with "being a BIG celebrity" --something which pained David Soul's whole life, despite "suddenly" being a success.

We're also curious about what her father feels about her one and only daughter's first debut album. He must be PROUD of her much as we are. China Soul, rock on and we're there for you!
