Manny Pacquiao - Secrets and Lessons to Learn from this Sports Superstar

He'll Sing His Songs Too
Yes, I love Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao probably as much as Paris Hilton does! And guess what? He'll be starring soon at GLEE according to Darren Criss (he's half-Irish and half-Filipino) who says that he would be very happy to star along with Manny in the US TV series. Well we're sure that he won't do something like Charice did (Sunshine Corazon) but that's alright, the world knows that Manny is a boxer, not a singer.
He did cut his cd with Dan Hill called "Sometimes When He Touch" and he also sang Imagine with Will Farrell who is ANOTHER funny, friendly, gracious and FRIENDLY human being. Even US President Barack Obama was so impressed by Manny P that he asked him to come over and visit him in the White House and you can read all about their White House lunch HERE.
How is it that a man who was born in one of the most remote areas in the Philippines has such global appeal? There are lessons to learn from this guy : First, is that he seems unaware that people all over the world admire him. Go to his practicing sessions and you get a smile from him even if you're a complete stranger. Second, he doesn't "play" any roles. He speaks English, yes, but he has his own manner of communicating MORE than just using words. He's as accessible as he can be and he makes it a point to acknowledge that YOU are there. He has always had his two feet firmly planted in the ground KNOWING that he is a huge sports star because people genuinely like him because he recognizes that despite his victories, he would NOT be as popular as he is today. Three, he loves his team. By team, we mean TEAM PACQUIAO -- his fans, cheerleaders, singers and his friends who go along with him everywhere he does. He authentically cares for people, especially HIS people, and why not? Thus, he does feed them (no kidding, how many do that?) and makes it a point to celebrate with them after every victory. Nothing beats the fun of being in one of Manny P's Karaoke Parties! Even Paris Hilton jumps at the him because of the fun:) Fourth, he remembers that he is ALSO a member of Congress and as such, he never forgets his constituents. Yes, and he does spend out of his own pocket (he has millions of dollars anyway) to build schools for kids in his area -- and he doesn't just build a school, he builds the BEST school. Last I now, is that he decided to come up with an industrial complex with one of the biggest business corporations in the world simply to ensure that people in his area all have decent jobs. Fifth, he is humble. Visit him in Congress and stay in the gallery and wait until session break -- then you can come to him and ask for his autograph or have him write on your shirt and he'll do it for you and even gladly tell you something like he's glad you came to visit.
Manny "Pacman" is great because works hard yet, he is always AMIABLE -- he practices as early as 6 am and this goes on til the evenings. At the same time, he makes sure that he does his Congressional job as well as he can. He understands people, probably because he always recalls that there was a time when there were times that his mother tried so hard to provide him and his siblings the basic things (food, clothing, shelter) to enable one to reach his or her dreams.
(See him singing with Will Farrell, I thought it was hilarious but that's only me...)

I only knew of him as an amazing boxer. It's good to read here about the man himself.
