Imelda Marcos Started the Law of Attraction

Lovely Asian Lady Imelda

She was the friend of prince and princesses and "created" and made real her own Cinderella dreams.

The True, The Good and The Beautiful

This blog just dawned on me as I was recalling MY past. I can assure you that THIS is not a joke. When I think about it, I realized that it was Philippine Ex-First Lady Imelda Marcos who started the Law of Attraction.

Imelda Marcos never liked anything "negative". She was so positive that I heard she even started her own line of collection making treasure out of trash. Now, I am no Imelda fan, but when i recall how as a poor kid she dared dream of living in a palace and DID it through visualizing it, I'd say that she could certainly be one of the FIRST to apply the LOA , even without knowing about it. Who meets a man while wearing slippers (and having no make-up) and marries him after 11 days? THINK about that.... I mean, that really happened to her. Then, the man becomes president and they live for more than 20 years at a Palace.

She loved being surrounded by beauty. In fact, I recall that she hated every picture of garbage, poverty and anything ugly. Okay, long ago I thought she was creepy and weird, but NOW, I think that she knew exactly what "The Secret" was.

"People say I'm extravagant because I want to be surrounded by beauty. But tell me, who wants to be surrounded by garbage? Beauty is love made real and the spirit of love is God. Only a crazy man wants to be surrounded by garbage, and I'm not crazy just yet."

That was what she said long ago .Okay, maybe she didn't quite "connect" then BUT she knew the "core" of the LOA without actually calling it that.

Think about what she meant by this : " In the material world, where everything is valued, when you commit yourself to God, beauty and love, it can be mistaken for extravagance." -- inPeople , 1996

Imelda seems to understand that cosmic connection with God/Universe. Here's how she put it :

Why, then, should the cross be a burden? Pain heightens. Sorrow defines joy. Suffering ennobles happiness. And tears are also for laughter. Believe in this, as I have lived it in the most excruciating manner any human being can bear. We are whole, and no line between or across our world can ever fragment us. For we are whole with the universe, and there is nothing to fear if we hold sacred the fundamental fiber of life's goodness itself. For that is God manifest in all created beings, and man was conceived in his likeness. In all that is good, we need only touch the hand of the Divine, we are one with it." -- in her book, Circles of Life

I mean how positive can THAT be? And isn't this another lesson from The Secret? Read her quote : " The truth is that, life is so beautiful and life is so prosperous and life is so full of potential and life has so much good in it that really, one should not have to sleep. I have no time to sleep. You only get boted if you are tired. And I only get bored and tired with ugliness, with negativism and evil and all of that. But as long as there's music, flowers, a nice person, a smile, a good deed... gosh! And at the end of the day, I start in the morning and I feel that we all have 1,000 energy. In my case, I see a beautiful flower, a beautiful program, a beautiful person, a beautiful smile, a beautiful child, by that time it's midnight. I'm just about ready to take off. I have a million energy, no longer 1,000. Everybody's falling apart and I cannot understand." - - on why she no longer sleeps, cited in Beatriz Romualdez Francia's Imelda: A Story of the Philippines

Remember that Imelda Marcos faced several charges of corruption and was judged NOT GUILTY by a New York court? Sure, there may be people who still hate her, but thinking at it NOW, as I write this hub, even before her New York trial she SAID that she would not be convicted. I mean imagine how POSITIVE that was during a time when she was extremely hated and even her panties, bras and shoes were rather -- crudely -- displayed? Even after she was spurned, widowed and treated as if she had leprosy, she's bounced back from what I heard. I mean, think about RESTORATION. People even love her again.

"I am not afraid of prison, because I am at peace with my conscience. Even when I was in New York, when I was finally vindicated in all counts, I was never afraid of prison, because I'm at peace with my conscience and my creator. And maybe it would be a good place for a little space and time and to be alone." -- to Bryant Gumbel, on Public Eye, April 1998 (contributed by Margaret Phillips)

I wondered how she is today. Oh, she's lovely at almost 80 I heard and she's enjoying her life. Last I gathered was she went to the biggest (and cheapest) flea market and bought different sorts of beads to design her own jewelry collection.

Hey if Imelda MADE it to First Lady (she was poor) so can anyone.. now, doesn't that also sound like the LOA? Here's her quote : " If Imelda can make it, everybody else can make it." -- cited in an Associated Press report, April 1988

Maybe I'm strange, but somehow Imelda seems to have understood the Law of Attraction a LONG time ago.. maybe she couldn't just express it. :) Maybe Oprah should INVITE her-- wouldn't that be quite a SHOW?
